The Clarendon police say normalcy has returned to the May Pen police station lock-up following yesterday’s riot at the facility.
Divisional commander, Super Superintendent of Police Fitz Bailey, says an impending transfer of a number of the prisoners to lock-ups in the Corporate Area sparked the riot.
He says the prisoners were protesting the planned transfer.
SSP Bailey says the riot left some prisoners injured, but no one escaped.
