New Cabinet to be sworn in Monday
The swearing in of Cabinet Ministers has been scheduled for 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon at King’s House, St Andrew.
This was revealed in an advisory from the government-run Jamaica Information Service this afternoon.
However, the advisory did not disclose the composition of the Andrew Holness-led Cabinet.
Repeated attempts by our news centre to get information from the Office of the Prime Minister and officials of the ruling Jamaica Labour Party were unsuccessful.
Earlier this week, Holness, in a post on his Facebook page, said he would name his Cabinet shortly after being sworn in as Prime Minister.
Analysts have said a Cabinet must be named as soon as possible so that the new administration can get to work right away.
Earlier this week, Jamaica Labour Party General Secretary Dr. Horace Chang suggested that a Cabinet would be in place before the end of the week.
