Doctors are making an urgent appeal for blood for a female police corporal who was shot six times by gunmen in east Kingston this morning.
The corporal's identity is being withheld, but law enforcement sources revealed that she is attached to the Office of Police Commissioner Dr Carl Williams.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) reports that the corporal left her east Kingston home shortly after 6 o'clock this morning and was heading for work when she was surprised by two men travelling on a motorcycle.
The CCU says the pillion pulled a firearm and opened fire on her.
"We can confirm that she was shot several times," a CCU representative told The Gleaner.
