Sandy Bay councillor-candidate election tie should be resolved May end - PNP

The People's National Party (PNP) executive says it hopes to resolve the stalemate in relation to the selection of a councillor-caretaker for the Sandy Bay Division of the Hanover Parish Council by the end of this month.

On Sunday, an election to find a replacement for embattled former Lucea Mayor and councillor Lloyd Hill ended with both candidates vying for the post polling 49 votes each.

PNP General Secretary Paul Burke says the party executive discussed suggestions to deal with the stalemate at a meeting last night.

However, Burke has declined to reveal the suggestions which were put forward.

The two contenders who are vying to become the party's councillor-caretaker for the Sandy Bay Division in Hanover are schoolteachers Andria Dehaney-Dinham, and Gregory Allen.
