Woman allegedly caught with 8lbs of ganja in laptop bag at airport, awaits charges

A woman arrested at the Norman Manley airport in relation to a drug seizure remains in police custody pending charges.

The police say the woman was arrested by narcotics detectives on Sunday after about $50,000 worth of ganja was found in her luggage.

According to the police, the woman’s suitcase was searched during security screening and about 8lbs of ganja found in a laptop bag with a false compartment.

The woman is scheduled to be interviewed later this week.
