Man arrested on firearm charge

The Green Island Police have taken a man into custody after a firearm was taken from him on the Orange Bay main road in Green Island, Hanover, on Wednesday.

The police report that they went to investigate a matter reported to them. The accused man was seen on the main road. He was accosted and searched and one Springfield V10 Ultra Compact .45 pistol with a magazine containing two .45 rounds of ammunition was taken from him. He was taken into custody; however, his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
