Student athlete dies after basketball match in Montego Bay

Another student athlete has died after competing in a sporting activity.

Sixth-former Saymar Ramsay of Spot Valley High in St James died after playing a basketball match in Montego Bay against Cornwall College yesterday.

It’s reported that after the game Ramsay complained about feeling ill and was taken for medical treatment.

He subsequently died.

His death comes weeks after St George’s College football player Dominic James collapsed at a football match and later died.
