Police launch high-level probe into murder, arson in Guy's Hill

The police have launched a high-level probe into the early morning arson and murder in Cocking Hill district, Guys Hill, St Catherine.
The police say about 1:30 this morning gunmen invaded two houses on the same property in the community, removed the children, and then doused the adults and the premises with a corrosive substance before setting the buildings on fire.
According to the police, the gunmen also fired several shots before leaving.
A detailed search of the area was carried out and the body of 47-year-old Allan Whittock, otherwise called ‘Vin’, was found on a neighbouring premises with a gunshot wound.
The fire has left 23 persons homeless and the police say losses have been estimated at $7 million.
