UHWI tightens security after baby is snatched from ward

The University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) has implemented tighter security measures since this morning's snatching of a baby from a ward at the facility.
Board chairman James Moss-Solomon says visitors will now be required to present proper identification when entering the wards.
They will also be required to sign a log book.
Meanwhile, the number of security personnel on the wards at the hospital has been increased.

Moss-Solomon says hospital staff have been supporting both parents of the child.

The child was found in Rollington Town, east Kingston about 5.30 p.m.

The police say a woman has been taken into custody.
According to the police she initially denied that the child was there.
However, they searched the premises and found the infant.
