Where am I?
The dilapidated condition of many Corporate Area street signs has been listed by the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAC) as a problem that will receive urgent attention come next financial year, which commences April 1.
Many persons may have had to use mobile phone applications, like Google Maps, to take them to their destinations, due to the lack of proper signs; some with faded names, some falling down or simply nowhere in sight.
Town Clerk Robert Hill told The Gleaner recently that the KSAC was aware of the situation, citing limited finances, deliberate damage and weathering as challenges faced. He said that cost assessments were being conducted, and once complete, would be recommended to the relevant committees. The KSAC would then move to have them fixed.
