President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica Janet Coore-Farr says the health minister has done a fair job during his first year in office.
Coore-Farr has given Dr Christopher Tufton five out of ten for the effort she says he is making to address the myriad of problems in the health ministry.
Coore-Farr says the government needs to work on getting greater efficiency in the health ministry.
The health minister has recently come under fire for the issue of noxious fumes which have affected staff and patients at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St James.
He has also been criticised by many for his attempts to stop the mass migration of critical care nurses from Jamaica to developed countries such as the US and England.
