Kingston mother charged after allegedly abandoning five-day-old baby

The police have now charged the mother of a five-day-old baby boy who was found in a plastic bag on Sergany Drive in Kingston yesterday.
Twenty-nine-year-old Monique Markland otherwise called Sashie of Mountain View, Kingston 2 has been charged with abandonment of a child.
She’s to appear in court next week.
The Rockfort Police say about 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon residents found the baby and summoned them.
The baby was transported to the Bustamante Children’s Hospital where he was examined and later admitted in stable condition.
