Water woes in several communities
The National Water Commission (NWC) has indicated that some of its customers are now without regular water supply as a result of various challenges being experienced at some of its facilities in some parishes.
In St Thomas
The Llandewey Pumping station is being affected by the dislocation of a section of the Yallahs pipeline which is being repaired.
Areas affected: Llandewey and Ramble
Clarendon
The Pleasant Valley pumping unit is non-operational as a result of mechanical issues which are being addressed.
Area served: Pleasant Valley
Portland
The Charles Town #2 production well is experiencing challenges with a pump which is currently undergoing repairs by the company’s team.
Areas affected: Charles Town, Buff Bay, Kildare, Woodstock Housing Scheme, Plum Valley and White River.
Meanwhile, for Kingston & St Andrew, the Flamstead #1 pump station is currently out of service as a result of electromechanical failure.
Areas affected: Top Hill, Little Content, Guava Ridge and Galloway Lodge.
