Four guns, ammo seized in three incidents, six arrested

The police are reporting that six people have been arrested in three incidents in the past 24 hours in connection with the seizure of four firearms.

The police say about 8:15 this morning, a Universal Hialeah M1 30-calibre rifle with a magazine and seven rounds were seized from a house and one man arrested during an operation in Goldsmith’s Villa, August Town.

According to the police, a day earlier, three men were arrested about 11 p.m, after a Taurus 9mm pistol, one 9mm Glock pistol, three magazines and 48 9mm rounds were seized during a traffic stop along the North-South Highway near Linstead.

The police say the men were travelling in a white Suzuki Ertega motorcar.

The Taurus pistol was found, reportedly on one of the men and the Glock pistol recovered from inside the car.

In the third incident, a 9mm Glock 17 pistol was seized and two men arrested during a stop and search operation involving men travelling on a motorcycle.
