Cops requesting transfers will have to wait at least another six months before they are granted.
In its February 15 staff orders to cops, the Police High Command said, effective immediately, commanding officers should put on hold all applications for transfers from members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force until September 1.
It says a revamp of the system for allocation of personnel is being carried out as well as a re-balancing of working strength at formations.
However, the High Command says despite the hold on transfers, the police commissioner reserves the right to move personnel as he deems fit.
