Last month’s alleged contract killing of a St Andrew businesswoman, in which her husband is implicated, has reportedly reignited interest in a 10-year-old murder case in Florida in the United States.

Investigators have charged three people in connection with last month's murder of Simone Collymore and her driver, Winston Walters, in Forrest Hills, St Andrew.

Among the three accused is her husband Omar Collymore.

A report in Florida’s Sun Sentinel says the murder has renewed interest in a 10-year-old case in the US state.

The Sun Sentinel reports that a decade ago, Omar Best Collymore’s girlfriend, Angela Aguiar, was shot dead in a Fort Lauderdale street.

Her killer was never charged, but police always considered Collymore someone of interest.

It says Fort Lauderdale detectives are working with Jamaican authorities in hopes of solving the Aguiar homicide.

Fort Lauderdale Detective Tracy Figone reportedly told the paper that the two slayings have several similarities.

The paper says in addition to being romantically linked to Collymore, both women had life insurance policies that listed Collymore as a beneficiary.
