Deborah Reid-Brown, principal of Windsor Basic School in St Ann’s Bay, receives a 32-inch television set from Grampa Entatain at the school recently. Members of the entertainer’s team, teachers and students joined in for the occasion.

St Ann entertainer Grampa Entatain has come to the assistance of a basic school in his community.

The Windsor Basic School in St Ann's Bay recently became the beneficiary of a 32-inch television, thanks to the comedic artiste, whose real name is Keithlen Mendez.

Mendez rose to prominence in 2016 with several witty songs, including Frowzy Taxi Man and Stop Run Dung Taxi Man. These were followed by several other hilarious tracks that brought him more recognition since then.

But in handing over the set to principal Deborah Reid-Brown and the staff and students at the institution, the artiste was serious about his desire to see the children learn.

"I was a resident here in Windsor, so that's why I chose the Windsor Basic School to give some support," Grampa Entatain explained. "I hope it (television) will help the kids to learn better. On behalf of my team, the Grampa Entatain team, I take pleasure in presenting this 32-inch flat-screen TV to Windsor Basic School."

Reid-Brown expressed appreciation for the gift and said it would enhance learning at the school.

"We really appreciate this kind gesture," the principal stated. "We the staff and students and, indeed, the community of Windsor would like to say 'thanks' to Grampa Entatain and his team Grand Son, and the entourage that came with him today. What he did is a very good gesture."
