JUTC temporarily suspends service to August Town

Published:Monday | February 19, 2018 | 12:00 AM

The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) says it has temporarily suspended bus service to August Town in St Andrew following this morning’s gun attack in the community.

Heavily armed men shot and killed one person and injured two others.

This is the second fatal shooting incident in the community this month.

As a result of the change, the JUTC says its number 77 and 78 buses will terminate in Papine.

It says it will resume full service to August Town once it has been advised by the police that it is safe to do so.
