JUTC ... passengers should expect that they as well as the buses will be searched as the security forces carry out their operations.

The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) says passengers who travel to and from Spanish Town should expect delays as a result of the State of Public Emergency in the St Catherine North Police Division.

At the same time, the company says it will be increasing the number of buses operating on Spanish Town routes to accommodate commuters who may now turn to the JUTC.

But the bus company says passengers should expect that they as well as the buses will be searched as the security forces carry out their operations.

The security forces have advised that all vehicles entering and leaving the boundaries of the State of Public Emergency are subject to search.

This morning, some motorists complained about delays because of the traffic stops and searches.

The state-run bus company is urging passengers and staff to comply with the directives of the security forces.

Meanwhile, the JUTC says its bus service to and from Spanish Town will operate as normal beginning with its usual 4:30 a.m roll out of buses.
