Portland man charged with murder of ex-cop for court today

Port Antonio police detectives have charged 31-year-old Ajardo Lawrence with Friday's murder of 66-year-old ex-policeman Homer Davis.
Davis was stabbed to death at a bar in Sea View Farm, Portland as he sought to intervene in a squabble between Lawrence and the ex-girlfriend of the alleged attacker.
People claiming to be eyewitnesses said the ex-cop was appealing to Lawrence not to engage in any act o violence when he was stabbed in the head.
Davis reportedly fell to the ground and while face down was stabbed several other times.
Lawrence is scheduled to appear in the Portland Parish Court this morning.
Davis, popularly called 'Silver Fox', served for 35 years in the Portland Police Division.
