Hanover Police seize illegal guns, ammunition and lead sheets

The Police High Command has commended police personnel attached to the Area One Police Division who continue to rid the nation's streets of illegal weapons.

The latest success comes from the Hanover Division where four firearms, 34 assorted rounds of ammunition and a number of lead sheets were seized by lawmen during an operation in Land Top, Chestercastle in Hanover on Sunday, May 27.

It's reported that about 6:15 a.m. the police responded to shots being fired in the area.

On their arrival, a premises was searched and the following items seized:

*One Glock 40 pistol with a magazine containing five .40 rounds of ammunition;

*One Springfield HS 2000 pistol with a magazine containing six 9mm rounds of ammunition;

*One 9mm pistol with a magazine containing seven 9mm rounds of ammunition;

*One Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol;

*Seven .45 cartridges;

*Nine 9mm cartridges;

*A cap with ‘Police’ written on it;

*Three masks; 

*120 lead sheets.

No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
