Alleged major player in drugs-for-guns trade charged

The police have charged a man delivered to be a major player in the illegal drugs-for-guns trade who was alleged held with $1.9 million worth of ganja.
Thirty-four-year-old Gaffi Daley, a fisherman of Hellshire, Portmore in St Catherine is charged with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, use to conveyance, taking steps preparatory to export ganja and conspiracy.
He is scheduled to appear before the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday, June 12.
The police had reported that about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 3 a team was on operation at the intersection of Lakes Pen and Municipal Boulevard in the parish when they signalled the driver of a motor vehicle to stop.
The driver complied and the vehicle was reportedly searched during which nine knitted bags containing 43 parcels with ganja were alleged seized.
According to the police, the ganja weighed 490 pounds.
