A St Catherine man accused of killing a coconut vendor in the parish last month will have to remain in custody.

Forty-year-old Charles Lewis appeared before the St Catherine Parish Court yesterday where Senior Parish Judge Tara Reid-Carr ordered that he be remanded into custody.

Lewis was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of Fitzroy Bennett, 43, at his Old Harbour home on May 24.

It’s alleged that Lewis went to Bennett’s home and shot him several times in the upper body.
