3 of 4 men who escaped from Cross Roads lock-up charged
The police have charged three of the four men who broke out of the Cross Roads lock-up in St Andrew last month with escaping custody.
They are 19-year-old Eustace Powell of Lincoln Road, Kingston 5, 21-year-old Rohan Brown and 23-year-old Richard Walker.
A similar charge is pending against the fourth man, 29-year-old Sanjay Burton, otherwise called ‘Christopher Peart’ or ‘Michael’, of Tavern Avenue, Kingston 6.
All four escaped from the lock-up by cutting through a metal grille on Wednesday, June 20.
Brown, who is charged with robbery, was recaptured on Olympic Way and Walker, who was charged with rape and buggery, was recaptured on Diamond Road, both in Kingston 11 on the night of June 20.
Powell, who was charged with rape and buggery, was held on Orange Street in Kingston on Monday, June 25, while Burton, who is charged with fraud-related offences, was handed over to the Kingston Central Police by a Justice of the Peace on Monday, July 02.
