Man allegedly held with illegal gun, ammunition to be charged

Charges are expected to be laid against a man who was allegedly held with an illegal gun and ammunition by St Andrew South Police this afternoon.
It is reported that about 3:00 p.m. a team was on patrol in the Crescent Road area when a man, who reportedly upon seeing the police, ran but was chased and accosted.
According to the police, the man was searched and a 9mm pistol along with two rounds of ammunition were allegedly found in his possession.
He was arrested and is to be questioned in the presence of his attorney before being charged.
