Sir Patrick Allen, governor general, commends Jastine Smith and James Peart, awardees of the 2018 IBI-NCB Foundation Scholarship. Established in 2013, SOS encourages youth who are matriculating or are completing their first undergraduate year to dedicate their summer (about eight weeks) to a worthy cause, and apply for an opportunity to win scholarships or book grants. This year, in support of the initiative, NCB. Foundation through its annual scholarship and grant programme, awarded two students each with a $250,000 tertiary scholarship for the tenure of their study. To date, four scholars have been awarded scholarships as part of the partnership with IBI which commenced in 2017.
