Man in custody over deadly downtown Kingston crash
A man is now in police custody in relation to Friday night's accident that resulted in the deaths of two men and the injuring of four others as they stood along a section of East Heroes Circle near Regent Street in downtown Kingston.
The man, accompanied by his attorney, surrendered to the Central Kingston Police this afternoon.
Those killed have been identified as 17-year-old Shawn'd Farquharson and 29-year-old Tarick Dawkins, both of Kingston 8 addresses.
The police report that shortly after 11 p.m. the driver of the motorcar lost control of the vehicle before it crashed into the group of persons standing near the roadway.
Farquharson and Dawkins succumbed to their injuries while the others were hospitalised.
The police say the motor car was later found crashed along Smith Lane, also in downtown Kingston later that night.
Investigations continue.
