UPDATE: No word on injuries of pilot in JDF helicopter crash
There is still no information on the extent of the injuries the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) pilot sustained in this morning's crash.
The pilot, who was the sole occupant, walked away from the crash scene and is now being treated at the University Hospital of the West Indies in St Andrew.
The pilot was rushed to hospital by JDF personnel in another helicopter.
The JDF Bell 206 helicopter crashed about 10:40.
The crash occurred about one mile south of the Dunbeholden main road in St Catherine.
The JDF's civil military cooperation and media affairs officer Major Basil Jarrett told The Gleaner that the JDF has cordoned off the crash site to allow investigators to carry out their duties.
Jarrett said a training helicopter was involved in the crash.
The JDF has had the helicopter for about 11 years.
