WPM Waste Management targetting garbage free Christmas
The WPM Waste Management says it will be seeking to ensure that western Jamaica communities are free of garbage pile ups heading into the Christmas season.
The agency on Saturday launched its clean-up campaign with the main focus being King Street in St James.
It says while town centres in the western parishes of St James, Hanover, Westmoreland and Trelawny are the main focus, adjoining communities will also be addressed.
According to the WPM, its teams have been busy removing bulky waste including old stoves, washing machines, refrigerators and derelict vehicles which facilitate mosquito and rodent breeding.
It said curbs, channels and illegal dump sites will also be cleaned.
