Jurors complain about poor bathroom facilities at Clarendon courthouse

Some jurors who were summoned to serve this month at the Clarendon Circuit Court have expressed disapproval with the bathroom facilities  at the courthouse.

According to the jurors, the odour in the bathroom is unbearable.

They complained that there has been no water in the pipes for weeks and so they are forced to use containers from a drum placed in the bathroom to flush the toilets.

The jurors further complained that they also have difficulties washing their hands.

They said they have tried to ascertain the reason for the lack of running water but got no response.

The jurors also complained about the unbearable heat in the courtroom.

They say the two fans in the courtroom are just blowing hot air and they complained that sometimes they have difficulty hearing witnesses because of the noise from the fans.

The jurors are calling for the authorities to address the situation, emphasising that it is unfair for them to be doing their civic duty under deplorable conditions.
