"Even when the fight seems lost

I'll praise You

Even when it hurts like hell

I'll praise You

Even when it makes no sense to sing louder

Then I'll sing Your praise", were the words sung by Shavonne Leckie as she made her way down the aisle to the man of her prayers, Jeovonne, the one, according to her, that God had strategically placed in her life.

The song, Even When it Hurts, done by popular Australian Christian music praise group, Hillsong' is her favourite worship song, one she revealed she only sings in her quiet time with God.

Leckie told Family & Religion that she chose to sing it at her wedding because the song speaks to the union's dedication to service and worship and that intimacy with God regardless of what happens in their relationship or life itself.

Another hashtag than #HappyGoLeckie could not have been used to better encapsulate the joy shared between newly-wedded, God-centred couple.

The two met on Facebook two years ago, then finally in person a few months after when Shavonne invited Jeovonne to her church.

"We just had a unique connection. It's like we have known each other all our lives. It was when he told me he had been praying to God for a wife that my eyes were opened that that might be me," the now Mrs Leckie laughed, adding that she was captivated by her would-be husband's relationship with and passion for God, exactly the type she was looking for.

Leckie told Family & Religion that in December 2017 they got really prayerful about their relationship and decided to court after what she related as a 'rough period of dating'.

She said: "We realised we needed to be more intentional with our relationship. It only made sense - we had the same desires and our God-given purposes seemed to be perfectly aligned. So, after receiving a scripture from God - Romans 12:1 - and meditating on it, God revealed our wedding date in the numbers '12:1' to be December 1."

The young woman of God admitted that though she and her husband-to-be were yet to receive a specific year, they started marital counselling, not too long after the other dates were revealed.

Marrying two weeks ago (a year later) Leckie note that she believes it to be God's perfect timing.

Of a union so unique that the young wife refers to it as a movement, she listed: "Both our names end with 'vonne'; we both grew up in Greater Portmore; both our dads are members of the security force; and both our moms are teachers. We both got baptised between the ages eight and 12 in apostolic churches located metres away; and we both have a passion for business, music, mental health, and ministry."

The worship leader and youth minister also mentioned that she and her husband, who also serves full-time as worship administrator, record music together, have opened two businesses the 'I-S Team Car Rentals' and 'Kingdom Kare Salon Services' and are looking to do more together regarding music, business, and ministry.
