Jodian Pantry delights bank customers for Christmas
At just 11 years old, Jodian Pantry stole the hearts of Jamaicans with her soulful I'll Give My Heart entry in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) Gospel Festival Song Competition in 2001. However, it was her performance in the Digicel Rising Stars competition in 2007, which catapulted her to stardom. In one of the competition's most memorable performances, Bed of Roses, done in collaboration with former contestant Noddy Virtue, Pantry proved her mettle.
As a respected vocalist, there are usually high expectations of Jodian. Her scintillating performance at the JN Bank Member Appreciation Lunch-Hour Concert, held in the Half-Way-Tree branch recently did not fail to charm her audience.
Effortlessly, she belted out renditions of Bob Marley's Three Little Birds Marcia Griffiths' I Feel Like Dancing. She also sang her third-placed JCDC gospel song, I'll Give My Heart.
Pantry, in her customary suave delivery, thrilled scores of members as they conducted transactions in the banking hall, and many remained for the duration of the concert. Jodian connected with the predominantly middle-aged audience, and the senior citizens were fixated during her performance.
Among those who welcomed the member-appreciation event was Shawonder Ellis, who has been a JN Bank member for approximately four years. She commended JN Bank for the entertainment.
SAYING THANKS
"It is a nice way to say thanks for our business throughout the year," she disclosed, "and I am pleased with the service I receive each time I come here."
The member-appreciation event was one of 34 held in JN Bank branches and MoneyShops across the country. Scores of members and customers were presented with JN-branded memorabilia, and they were also treated to traditional Jamaican fruit cake and sorrel.
"We value the loyalty of our members," Carlene Clarke, head of customer experience and service recovery, said. "JN Bank is the only commercial bank in Jamaica which is fully owned by its members, and this annual treat is one of the many ways we show them our appreciation.
"In all our activities and initiatives, we strive to put people first,"she emphasised.
