The witness, who yesterday said he was robbed of his cellphone in Portmore, St Catherine by men who emerged from a blue Suzuki Swift motor car on March 20, 2012, this morning successfully entered his password into Blackberry Curve mobile device.

The cellphone was entered into evidence at the trial.

The court was told that one of the men was armed.

Yesterday, the witness said he would need to open the phone to know if it was the device that was stolen from him.

On opening the phone this morning, he said he recognised his WhatsApp profile picture, messages in the phone and a call he made before the men allegedly stole the device.

The witness was testifying at the trial of Constables Anna-Kay Bailey, Durvin Hayles and Andrewain Smith who charged with the murder of schoolgirl Vanessa Kirkland in the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston.

Kirkland and six other occupants who were inside the car were shot and injured during an alleged firefight.

The schoolgirl died from her injuries and the men who were inside the car escaped.

It was revealed in court that the witness visited the scene of the incident on Norman Lane in St Andrew on the night in question.

The witness said he identified the Blackberry Curve cellphone as well as his house and motorbike keys that were recovered at the scene.

He said the items were stolen from him by men driving in a Suzuki Swift motor car while he was seated near to his brother’s house in Portmore.

He said he took note of the vehicle’s licence plate while it drove away.

He testified that he and his brother trailed the car for some distance but eventually went to the Waterford Police Station where he filed a police report.
