Dennis Chung appointed SVREL interim CEO with sudden resignation of Blake
Dennis Chung has now taken over as interim chief executive officer of Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL).
Parent company Supreme Ventures Group announced today that Chung, who was the chief financial officer, has been appointed to act in the top executive post following the sudden departure of Major Hugh Blake who yesterday officially resigned his position.
The gaming and entertainment company said Chung will act in the CEO position until a suitable replacement is found.
Chung is currently the chairman of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) also and a former CEO of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ)
According to Supreme Ventures, Blake who was at the forefront of positioning SVREL over the last few months, has vacated the post to pursue other interests and personal projects.
“We are pleased to have Dennis on board in this interim capacity, and we look forward to his leadership during this transition. We thank Hugh for his contribution to the growth of SVREL, and wish him all the best going forward” SVREL Chairman Solomon Sharpe stated in a media release today.
Since SVREL's takeover of the track in 2017, it has implemented systematic, strategic changes to the operations including the expansion of the Off-Track Betting network, the implementation of a new, state-of-the-art tote system, and expanded the simulcast footprint outside of Jamaica.
