Fantastic opening for Grand A View Restaurant and Event Place
Dave Revels’ Shadows of the ‘60s, Fitzroy ‘Saxie’ Minott, Jumanji band and Lady Marlene brought an international combination to the opening of Montego Bay’s newest attraction, Grand A View Restaurant and Event Place, last Saturday night.
Opened officially by Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett, who received assistance from Custos of St James Conrad Pitkin, and Mayor of Montego Bay Homer Davis, the event was a grand affair that saw Montegonians out in their numbers to support proprietors Carl Erskine and his wife, Dr Barbara Erskine.
The Erskines had outdone themselves yet again, this time providing a much-needed place for weddings, conferences, anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, and office parties, with a view of the bay that is a proven 180 degrees.
Since opening its doors to the public in December 2018, Grand A View, located at 7 Queens Drive, western Jamaica, seems to have moved all its major functions there anyway because the venue is now a favourite.
“Our Friday evening lyme has become extremely popular, and our Sunday brunch, introduced also in December, has become the signature occasion, particularly, for the church people, who stop here after church,” Erskine said.
The four-storey building is home to a rooftop that Erskine has dubbed the ‘Observation Tower’.
With award-winning executive chef Dennis McIntosh at the helm of the food and beverage at the facility, Erskine says the growth in three months has been phenomenal.
