Drop off pharmacy services to be implemented at Summerfield Community Centre, Clarendon

The National Health Fund (NHF) will be implementing its drop off and pick up pharmacy services at Summerfield Community Centre, Clarendon as of Monday, April 1.
The NHF says this is as a result of the impending closure of the Chapelton Community Hospital for six months to carry out repairs to the facility.
It is advising that patients who would usually seek treatment at the hospital will be referred for the nearby Summerfield Community Centre during the period of closure.
Patients seeking to access pharmacy services can utilise the fund’s drop off and pick up initiatives.
How will it work
Prescriptions will be accepted on Mondays for pick up on Tuesdays, while patients who drop off their prescriptions on a Wednesday can collect their medication the following day.
Additionally, Drug Serv pharmacy services in the parish will continue to be available at several public facilities.
These include:
* May Pen Hospital - Mondays to Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, while on Saturday services will be provided from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
* May Pen Health Centre on Mondays to Fridays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
* Frankfield Health Centre on Fridays and third Thursdays from 10: a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
* Kellits Health Centre on Mondays and Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
In the meantime, patients can also visit any of the six partnering private pharmacies under the Public Sector Pharmacy Partner Programme for medication.
They are GSD, Health First, Jenni’s, Miller’s and New Midland pharmacies, all located in May Pen as well as the K-Square Pharmacy in Kellits, Clarendon.
CEO of NHF, Everton Anderson reiterated the agency’s commitment to supporting and improving health services across the island.
“We are keen on providing the best care for our fellow citizens and as such these improvement efforts will go a long way to facilitate more positive health outcomes for present and future generations,” he said.
