#EastPortlandBattle | EOJ reports 25% voter turnout at 11 o' clock
The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) is reporting a 25.28 per cent voter turnout up to 11 o' clock this morning in the Portland Eastern by-election.
There are 36,315 registered voters in the constituency.
The EOJ notes that compared with the same time period during voting in the 2016 parliamentary elections, the voter turnout was 14.47 per cent.
The office says the constituency's 127 polling stations across 49 voting locations opened on time at 7:00 a.m.
Polls are scheduled to close at 5 p.m.
The Jamaica Labour Party's Ann-Marie Vaz and the People’s National Party's Damion Crawford are contesting the seat.
