$9 million worth of ganja seized in St Elizabeth

The police in St Elizabeth seized 2,500 pounds of ganja along the Beacon main road during an operation on Friday.
According to the police, the drug has an estimated street value of $9 million.
The police report that about 8:30 p.m. a team was in the area when the driver of a Toyota Hiace bus was signalled to stop.
The driver did not comply and the vehicle was subsequently intercepted.
The police say two men ran from the vehicle, which was subsequently searched and the illicit drug seized.
No one was arrested in relation to the seizure.
