Telecommunication company FLOW is reporting that it has now restored service to more than 90 per cent of customers in Kingston, Mandeville, Ocho Rios and St Thomas following major disruptions since yesterday afternoon.

The disruption affected landline, internet and cable services.

"We're mindful of the importance of our services for working from home, home schooling and staying connected while we practice social distancing during this COVID-19 pandemic," said Flow Jamaica Country Manager Stephen Price, while apologising for the disruption.

Price said Flow’s technical team has been working to fix the issue.

Noting that the company had been doing a lot of work to ensure the reliability of the network, Price said a full investigation is under way into the service break down.

"Our commitment is to quickly resolve the issues when they arise to get our customers back online as quickly as possible," he said.

In a statement, Flow said its technical team continues to restore services to the remaining customers but did not give project timeline for completion.

It also said the company is monitoring the network to quickly respond if further issues arise.

At the same time, Flow said it is continuing its network expansion projects to meet the increased demand amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
