Time's up for Mike Henry, declares PNP's Zuleika Jess
A confident Zuleika Jess, the People's National Party (PNP's) candidate for Clarendon Central has her eyes set on ending the 40-year reign of incumbent, the Jamaica Labour Party's Mike Henry in the September 3 election.
"Mike Henry's time is up," Jess told The Gleaner after being nominated.
Her supporters blocked traffic near the May Pen Bridge this morning as they turned out for Nomination Day.
However, the jubilant entourage had to celebrate at a distance as Jess arrived St Gabriel's Anglican Church minutes after 10 o'clock, to be nominated.
"Clarendon is ready for a change after 40 years of stagnant representation," she said.
Jess said if elected, first on her agenda will be the opening of a business process outsourcing and an agro processing facility in Denbigh.
