Former St Ann North Western Member of Parliament Dr Dayton Campbell could become the next People's National Party (PNP) general secretary.
Meanwhile, Dr Angela Brown Burke the St Andrew South Western MP could become the first woman chairperson of the 82-year-old party.
The election is set for Sunday, November 29 when the PNP holds its first National Executive Council meeting since Mark Golding was elected president, succeeding Dr Peter Phillips.
Following the bruising September 3 election defeat to the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), incumbent chairman Fitz Jackson and PNP general secretary Julian Robinson indicated that they would be demitting office.
Since then, Raymond Pryce, the unsuccessful St Catherine East Central contender has publicly said he has an interest in the post of PNP general secretary.
But speaking on News Talk 93FM on Tuesday, Golding backed Campbell for general secretary and Brown Burke for chairperson.
Golding said Campbell is somebody he has closely worked with and has grown to admire.
"He has a tremendous capacity for hard work. He's very bright, savvy, and good with numbers and a good organiser," said Golding.

Turning to Brown Burke, the PNP president said it was high time for a female chairman.
"She is also somebody who believes in consultation, in open and honest dialogue, and I think she will play an important role in the healing of the party," Golding added.
The PNP president also said there is a long held tradition in the PNP that the NEC supports president's pick for party general secretary and chairperson.
"I'm hoping that the NEC will respect that choice," Golding said.
Campbell on Tuesday told The Gleaner that he was ready to assume the post.
“I think I have the necessary skill set that it requires, the organisational ability to focus on the enumeration, the strategic outlook and to get things done, the managerial skills and also I believe I have the inter-personal skills as well to be able to get along with everyone,” said Campbell.
He has launched his bid under the mantra 'energised to organise and modernise'.
In September, Campbell was beaten in his St Ann North Western constituency by the JLP's Krystal Lee.
