Palace Amusement closes its cinemas until further notice
Palace Amusement has closed its Carib 5, New Kingston Drive-In and Sunshine Palace cinemas with immediate effect until further notice.
It comes amid tightened COVID containment measures including longer curfew hours.
"Palace Amusement remains committed to the health, safety and well-being of our staff, patrons, and indeed the nation at large," said a spokesperson in a statement.
The company has been seeing a steep downturn in earnings as moviegoers stay home amid the COVID spread.
In October, Palace closed two of its cinemas – Palace Cineplex in Liguanea, Kingston, and Palace Multiplex in Montego Bay – citing a lack of customer traffic.
