Authorities probing fire at Constant Spring tax office

The authorities are investigating the cause of a fire at the Constant Spring tax office in St Andrew. 

The Half-Way-Tree Fire Station responded to a report of a fire around 8:30 this morning. 

The blaze reportedly started in the registry department. 

Assistant superintendent for Kingston and St Andrew Fire Department Patrick Arscott indicated that the fire is currently under control and that personnel are working to suppress the smoke. 

Meris Haughton, chief corporate communications officer at Tax Administration Jamaica, told The Gleaner that the tax office will be closed for the rest of today.
