49 additional COVID-19 cases, one more fatality

Jamaica has recorded one more COVID-19 death, increasing the tally to 2,184.

The deceased is a 78-year-old man from Manchester.

And two more fatalities are under investigation, moving that figure to 323.

Meanwhile, there were 49 new cases with ages ranging from 10 months to 89 years, pushing the total to 88,480 with 28,751 being active.

Of the new cases, 34 are women and 15 are men.

* Clarendon - 9 
* Trelawny - 5
* St James - 5
* St Thomas - 3 
* Manchester - 2  
* Westmoreland - 2
* Hanover - 1
* St Elizabeth - 0  
* St Ann - 0   
* Portland - 0 
* St Mary - 0   

A total of 615 tests were conducted.

The country's positivity rate stands at 8.3%.

In the meantime, there were 183 more recoveries, increasing the total to 56,944.

Some 340 persons are in hospital with 78 being moderately ill, 32 severely ill and 22 critically ill.

And 40,451 are at home in quarantine.
