A bail application is to be made in the St Catherine Parish Court on November 8 for a St fisherman who was held with three kilograms of cocaine.

Thirty-seven-year-old Amos Lee is charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, using a motor vehicle for the conveyance of cocaine and attempting to export cocaine.

Lee was remanded when he appeared before Senior Parish Court Judge Yvette Wenthworth-Miller on Tuesday.

Attorney Richard Lynch told the court that he intended to apply for bail, but the judge said it could not be entertained due to a heavy court roster.

It is alleged that about 6 p.m. on October 17, detectives from the Jamaica Constabulary Force's Narcotics  Division were on operation in Portmore, St Catherine, when a car driven by Lee was stopped and a search conducted.

Cocaine weighing three kilograms and with an estimated valued of US$150,000 was reportedly discovered concealed inside the vehicle.

He was arrested for suspicion of breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

Lee was subsequently charged following a question and answer session in the presence of his lawyer.
