The accused was further remanded.

The trial of a St Catherine man charged with the stabbing death of his girlfriend in her home has been pushed back to January 17 next year.

The matter could not proceed in the St Catherine Circuit Court today because other cases are before the court.

Thirty-five-year-old Sherwayne 'Billy' Collins was further remanded.

He is being accused of killing Alicia Patience, a 24-year-old hairdresser of Dunfar Lane, Lluidas Vale, St Catherine.

Allegations are that on August 21, 2022, Patience was at home when Collins used a knife to stab her.

She died from the injuries received.

Collins was subsequently arrested and charged with murder by the Shady Grove police.

He has made numerous court appearances and has maintained his innocence.
