Major ganja seizure in St Thomas
The police in St Thomas on Wednesday seized a large quantity of ganja, which has an estimated street value of $12.2 million.
Five persons were taken into custody.
The police report that about 11 a.m., a team conducted an operation at a premises located off the Ken Jones highway where 1,220 kgs of ganja were discovered.
Subsequently, the five persons who were present at the premises were arrested and taken into custody in connection with the seizure.
Their names have been withheld pending further investigations.
The police are searching for a sixth person who was at the premises but who managed to escape.
