Seven charged in beating of 14-year-old girl in Clarendon
Charges have been laid against seven persons, including teenagers, in connection with the December 30 brutal beating of a 14-year-old girl along Holland Street in Denbigh, Clarendon.
Charged with unlawful wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm are:
* 52-year-old Pauline Hughes of Woodside district
* 36-year-old Shayanne Williams of Havannah district
* 22-year-old Amanda Anderson of Havannah district
* Their co-accused are three females aged 15, 16, and 17, and a 17-year-old male.
Reports from the May Pen police are that at about 2:00 p.m., a 14-year-old girl was at the aforementioned location when she was ambushed and beaten mercilessly by the group, rendering her unconscious.
She was assisted to hospital, where she was admitted in serious condition.
Following an investigation, the six females were taken into custody on Tuesday, January 2, while the teen boy was arrested a day later.
The adults are slated to answer the charges in the May Pen Parish Court on Thursday, January 11.
