Businessman accused of fraud over failed motor vehicle transaction
A 26-year-old St Andrew businessman was on Friday charged with obtaining money by means of false pretence for failing to return money to a woman in a motor vehicle transaction.
He is Akeem Adamson.
His court date is being finalised.
According to Montego Bay police, last year the woman requested Adamson's assistance to purchase a vehicle and the agreed sum was paid to him.
The police say the vehicle was not delivered as promised so the woman requested a refund.
She then filed a report with the police after the money was not returned and an investigation was launched.
Adamson was taken into custody and later charged on Friday, January 5.
