Alleged New Kingston robbers arrested and charged
The St Andrew Central police have arrested and charged two men with robbery with aggravation following an incident at the intersection of Trafalgar Road and Grenada Crescent in New Kingston on Friday.
They are 24-year-old Jevaughnie Bartley, a labourer of Shoe Lane, Kingston 16, and 26-year-old Ramario Williams, a geriatric nurse of Selassie Path, Nannyville, Kingston.
The police say about 12:30 p.m., the complainant was walking along the roadway when Bartley, Williams and another man approached him armed with machetes.
It is reported that they held the man and robbed him of his property then escaped on foot.
A report was made to the police and, during a search of the area, the accused men were pointed out by the complainant and apprehended.
The men were subsequently arrested and charged. Their court dates are being finalised.
